This baby had abnormal swelling of digit 4 and the associated pawpad of a forelimb. Owers opted for ampitation of the digit. I performed a carpometacarpal disarticulation. He recovered well. #veterinarymedicine #vetsurgery

You do what you can. This baby came in for evaluation of a "bump" that had been leaking and was bothering him. He was an older gentleman and his owners wanted to give him a good quality of life so they elected for debulking of the mass with amputation of the associated toes. Unfortunately, the mass recurred at the incision site, leading to amputation of the limb. And again. His owners then elected for humane euthanasia.
Cases like this remind me that not all surgeries that end well, turn out as we hope. #veterinarymedicine
